Pack Kindness,
Deliver Hope

The transition from an unsafe home to a shelter or new living situation is an abrupt and challenging process, leaving children without much they can call their own. The Safe Start Initiative provides thoughtfully designed care packages during key moments—holidays like Christmas and Easter, as well as back-to-school season—to ensure every child has what they need to feel seen, celebrated, and prepared for their future. Whether it’s a backpack filled with school supplies, a cozy holiday gift, or a small token of reassurance, we strive to remind each child that they are not alone and that brighter days are ahead.

Our Mission

Our mission is to bring comfort, stability, and joy to children transitioning into safety from domestic violence. Through providing essential items, school supplies, and holiday gifts, we help children feel supported and valued as they transition to a safe environment.

For kids in crisis, there’s no time to pack their favorite things. Help us provide comfort, hope, and a fresh start to children entering a new chapter of safety.

About Us

Hi, I’m Sage, a 17-year-old high school student who wants to see the world heal. Upon learning of the challenges that children affected by unsafe environments face, I wanted to help. Many kids leave most of their possessions behind upon entering shelters, leaving them with nothing familiar. That’s why I started Project Warm Welcome—to provide the familiar items that these children are missing to families of the SAFE alliance during the holidays, back-to-school season, and other critical moments to give them support in such a difficult part of their lives. My goal is to remind every child stepping into safety that they are not alone, and that hope is on the horizon. With the help of my community, I hope to bring comfort, stability, and hope to the children who need it most.
